Colt seems so huge to me and seems to be growing SO fast. Here are his stats:

10 weeks - 125lbs
12 weeks - 19lbs
13 weeks - 26lbs
14 weeks - 27.2lbs
15 weeks - 28.2lbs

It seems that based on these charts, my boy is running about 10 lbs behind for his age. The vet says he is very healthy and a perfect weight (not too fat or too skinny) and loves the Blue Buffalo Large Breed Puppy food that I have him on. I worry because for all of the very very good things the breeder did, she fed cheap, store brand puppy food so that is all he had before I got him. He looks very close in size to another GSD in his puppy obedience class who is from a breeder who raises BIG dogs--her breeding male is well over 100lbs and pups are known for being huge as well once they are grown. Colt's feet are HUGE again like he is getting ready to hit another big growth spurt, but I worry about him being SO far below the average on the growth chart.

If you go to Germany you'll see their German Shepherds are small compared to USA German Shepherds. The larger the shepherd, the lazier he gets. You want your shepherd to be smaller in size, they do better in agility, sports, etc. The larger German Shepherds don't seem to want to work as much.

18 weeks = exactly 35 lbs.

Had 4 month vet appt today. Colt is 16.5 weeks old today and weighed in at 32.5 lbs. Vet agrees that he is definitely small for his age. But his heart, lungs, joints, skin and coat--all excellent.
