Hi, I'm a shepherd lover as well. I was told by a breeder where I go to that when they are puppies you must soften their biscuits. Because if your pup is any thing like mine, they gulp their food. And since their digestive system isn't quite mature, this can harm them. So, if the biscuits are soft they swallow better.
Just some advice. If you're not sure, ask your vet, but this is what I was told.
