My puppy has gone thru 30 pounds of Blue Buffalo. I started him on it when I got him at 10 weeks. His coat looks great. But his stools have always been soft. I am going to try Royal Canin to see if it will help firm them up.

He is 4 months now and 41 lbs! He's getting to be a big boy and has started teething like mad!

Food and Growth Update

Kreiger eats 3 cups a day, not per meal. This is a half cup less then bag guidelines. He is now 15 weeks and had a huge growth spurt the past 2 weeks. He is now 33 lbs.

He is very healthy, active and still so very smart.

He goes to GSD of MN club classes as well as an all breed kindergarten and is doing so well. He'll get his star puppy for sure! He loves the teetertotter and tunnel!

Your dog is beautiful and growing very well, Kristina. I'm a shepherd trainer, just a suggestion you can check it out or continue what you are doing. I have two shepherds - they are show dogs at a German shepherd club. My concern is the amount you are feeding your puppy. Please get some advice from the club where you go, my two boys only get three cups each at meal time, we soften their biscuits because shepherds can get bloated.

My baby dog who's 2 years old scoffs his meal like you haven't fed him in two days. So, I'm like you - I feel sorry for him and give him more, but he has put on weight. I was told by a dog judge that he's overweight. He told me to give him a raw chicken carcass twice a week, and a bone through the day. I was actually killing him with kindness.

Kreigs was at the vet on Wednesday, weight was a little over 24 lbs. Vet guessed adult size to be about 75 lbs....but knowing his genes it'll be more like 90. He eats like a good boy....we feed him Innova large breed, currently 3 cups, and offer more if he is still looking (only happens at 5pm meal) and he also gets Wellness canned, but only about half can a day.

He is such a handsome pup, and so very smart. He goes to two classes a week, one mixed breed so he can socialize with different breeds and the other is a GSD only class.
